Traineeships

A traineeship provides you with the opportunity to gain a nationally accredited qualification while working full time to gain relevant skills, knowledge and valuable work experience.

You will receive a competitive salary, work with experienced supervisors, meet other trainees, and benefit from formal training both in the workplace and off the job.

Traineeships take 12 or 24 months to complete, depending on which one you apply for.

Our traineeships cover critical industries and skills in Business and Government.

At the completion of the traineeship, successful trainees gain a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.

Traineeships offered

  • Government - The Government Traineeship is a 24 month, office based program. At the end of the 24 months, individuals will receive a Certificate III in Government which is a nationally Accredited Qualification. Government Trainees must hold their Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Business (Administration) - The Business (Administration) Traineeship is a 12 month, office based program. At the end of the 12 months, individuals will receive a nationally Accredited Qualification in Certificate III in Business - Administration. Business (Administration) Trainees must hold their Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Business (Registries) - The Business (Registries) Traineeship is a 12 month program with the trainees based in Registries around NSW. At the end of the 12 months, individuals will receive a Certificate III in Business - Registries which is a nationally Accredited Qualification. Business (Registries) Trainees must be at least 18 years of age and hold their Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Customer Contact - The Customer Contact Traineeship is a 12 month program with the trainees based in the Newcastle Contact Centre. At the end of the 12 months, individuals will receive a Certificate III in Customer Contact which is a nationally Accredited Qualification. Customer Contact Trainees must be at least 18 years of age and hold their Higher School Certificate or equivalent.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a traineeship you:

  • Must have completed your HSC or equivalent school certificate.
  • Must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
  • If you have completed a Certificate III or higher (such as a Diploma or Degree) you may not be eligible for a Roads and Maritime Services traineeship. You must let us know up front if this is the case.
