Disclaimer

From 1 November 2017, the Point to Point Transport Act 2016 and Point to Point Transport Regulation 2017 provided a new regulatory framework for passenger services undertaken in any vehicle with 12 seats or less (including the driver). These include taxis, private hire vehicles (including ride sharing) and some buses. More information on point to point transport is available at www.pointtopoint.nsw.gov.au.

As the regulator for the licensing of drivers and registration of vehicles, Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) manages the issuance of registration plates to point to point vehicles and ensures drivers meet required licensing standards. RMS publishes monthly statistics for taxi registration plates, taxi registration plates on hold, and relevant driver licence information for the information of the point to point industry and the general public.
