Speed limit change on Henry Lawson Drive at Mudgee
Member For Orange Andrew Gee today announced a speed limit change will be implemented on Henry Lawson Drive at Mudgee in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has carried out a review as part of the NSW audit of speed zones,” Mr Gee said.
“The existing 80 km/h zone will be extended from 460 metres north of the Ulan Road intersection to one kilometre north of the Ulan Road intersection on Henry Lawson Drive on the northern side of Mudgee.
“The speed limit on this section of road was reviewed by RMS after a request from Mid Western Regional Council representing concerns from local residents.
“An extension of the 80 km/h zone was considered appropriate given the residential development and increasing traffic on Henry Lawson Drive.
“Speed limits are set for all roads in NSW in accordance with the NSW speed zoning guidelines.
“Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits,” Mr Gee said.
