Gerringong upgrade nightwork and changed traffic conditions
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward today advised motorists of night work and changed traffic conditions this week as part of the Princes Highway upgrade at Gerringong.
"Night work will be carried out from Tuesday 26 February to Thursday 28 February, between 7pm and 5am, weather permitting to complete additional road surface repairs," Mr Ward said.
"Out of hours work to repair the road surface at various locations on and around the Princes Highway at Gerringong started on Monday 18 February 2013. The work will ensure these roads are maintained to existing standards while upgrade work is carried out.
"Traffic at the Fern Street intersection will be moved to the west of the southbound through lanes and off ramp.
"The work involves barrier movement, line marking and road surface work. This work is being carried out to safely progress the building of the bridge support structures for the Fern Street railway overbridge.
"During the work, partial temporary lane closures will be needed in both directions on the Princes Highway, Fern Street, Sims Road and Willow Vale Road. Through access will be maintained for motorists.
"A reduced roadwork speed limit of 40km/h will apply and motorists will be guided through the work site by traffic control.
"Electronic message signs will provide motorists with advance warning of the work.
"Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and obey all signs," Mr Ward concluded.
