Temporary closure on George Road at Leppington

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will temporarily close George Road at Leppington to carry out work to move utilities under Camden Valley Way.

“Work will start in March on stage two of the Camden Valley Way upgrade and utilities under the road need to be moved before work starts,” an RMS spokesperson said.

“RMS will close the road on weekdays between 7am and 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm for one month from Monday 4 March, weather permitting. Local residents will have access to their properties.

“Local residents have been advised of the closure by letter and a detour will be in place via Dwyer Road and Hulls Road.

“Electronic signs and traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists around the work area.

“Every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise on local residents and business operators.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution, obey all signs, including reduced speed limits, and allow extra travel time.

“For traffic information contact the Transport Management Centre on 132 701 or visit www.livetraffic.com.

“For further information, please call Clinton Woods on 0412 490 602 during business hours or by email Clwoods@nace.com,” the spokesperson said.
