Speed limit change on Racecourse Road at Clarendon

Hawkesbury residents need to be aware of a speed limit change which Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will implement on Racecourse Road at Clarendon, the member for Londonderry Bart Bassett announced today.

Following representations from the community about the speed levels on Racecourse Road, I wrote to RMS who undertook a review of the road’s crash history, road environment and traffic volumes.”

Mr Bassett said, “The speed limit on Racecourse Road, Clarendon will be increased from 60km/h to 70km/h for two kilometres between 50 metres south of Rickaby Street and Blacktown Road.

“RMS expects new speed signs to be installed from 28 March, weather permitting and electronic signs will be on site to give motorists advanced notice of the change.

“The 60km/h speed limit between 50 metres south of Rickaby Street and Hawkesbury Valley Way, Clarendon will remain in place. “For more information about road safety
