The Northern Road upgrade at Bringelly - submissions report released
Local MPs Tanya Davies and Chris Patterson today invited the community to view a report summarizing community feedback received during the display of the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for The Northern Road Upgrade at Bringelly.
“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) proposes to widen The Northern Road between The Old Northern Road at Narellan and Mersey Road at Bringelly from a two lane road to a four lane divided road.
“The proposal includes installing thirteen new sets of traffic lights with bus priority capability, five new intersections, new turning lanes, pedestrian crossings, bus bays and a shared pedestrian/cyclist path.
“The road is expected to be upgraded in stages to provide road transport capacity for the growing population of Sydney's south west as residential and commercial developments are completed in the South West Growth Centre.”
”This project is separate to The Northern Road upgrade at Cranebrook being carried out by Lend Lease as part of the Jordan Springs development.” Mrs Davies said.
Mr Patterson said that in October the RMS displayed the draft concept design and a REF for community comment for the upgrade. “RMS has considered all community feedback received during the REF display period and issues such as heritage, property impacts and flooding are also addressed in the submissions report.”
“The timing for the start of work is unknown at this stage however the community will be kept informed as the project progresses.”
“RMS thanks the many community members who took the time to give feedback during the REF period and encourages the community to view the submissions report,” Mr Patterson said.
