Speed limit changes on Marulan roads

Member for Goulburn Pru Goward is encouraging motorists to slow down with speed limit changes to be implemented on Marulan South Road and Jerrara Road in Marulan in the next fortnight, weather permitting.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has carried out a review of the roads as part of the NSW audit of speed zones.

“The review assessed a number of factors including road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” Ms Goward said.

“The existing 100km/h speed limit on Marulan South Road will be reduced to 80km/h from south of the Hume Highway interchange for south bound motorists and from about 7.6 kilometres south of Hume Highway interchange for northbound motorists,

“On Jerrara Road, the existing 90km/h speed limit will be reduced to 80km/h from south of the Hume Highway interchange for south bound motorists and about 100 metres north of Mountain Ash Road for northbound motorists.

“These changes will increase safety for all road users,” Ms Goward said.

Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the change and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
