Speed limit change on Richardson Road at Narellan

Member for Camden Chris Patterson today reminded motorists it’s time to slow down with a reduced speed limit due to be installed in the coming weeks on Richardson Road at Narellan to improve safety for motorists and pedestrians.

“After Narellan Public School’s Prinicpal and P & C raised their concerns with me about the speed limit on this road, I raised the issue with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) who carried out a review of the speed limit on Richardson Road from Camden Valley Way to Lodges Road,” Mr Patterson said.

“RMS will reduce the speed limit from 60 km/h to 50 km/h to improve safety for the high number of pedestrians accessing Narellan Public School and to reduce the risk of rear end crashes as cars enter residential properties with closely spaced driveways along the road.

“The reduced 50km/h speed limit on Richardson Road between Camden Valley Way and Lodges Road at Narellan. “RMS expects the new speed limit signs to be installed from Wednesday 17 April 2013. “Electronic message signs will be on site to notify motorists before the change.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution, obey all signs, including reduced speed limits, and allow extra travel time.

“To have your say on road safety visit the RMS website www.rms.nsw.gov.au,” Mr Patterson said.
