Free workshop for parents of learner drivers

Member for Bega Andrew Constance today announced Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will hold a free workshop for parents and supervisors of learner drivers at Eden Marine High School on 15 May from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

“The two hour course will offer parents and supervisors hands on advice on how to deliver the most effective on road driving experience for learner drivers,” Mr Constance said.

“Parents and supervisors of learner drivers have a crucial role to play in making our roads safer which is why RMS has developed a course to better support them.

“The course will cover topics such as new laws for leaner and P-plate drivers, how to use the learner driver log book and how to plan driving lessons.

“Parents and supervisors who have attended this course found it boosted their confidence, helped them better plan driving sessions and allowed them to share experiences with other parents and supervisors.

“The course also reinforces the important role of families in providing ongoing support for young drivers in the early years of driving,” Mr Constance said.

Bookings for the Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers course are essential and can be made by calling Crystal Lenane from RMS on (02) 4221 2770.
