New school zone to improve student safety at Dulwich Hill

Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads, John Ajaka MLC today announced a new school zone will be installed on Fairfowl Street and Fairfowl Lane at Dulwich Hill to improve safety for students travelling to Dulwich Hill Visual Arts & Design High School.

“The new school zone will improve safety for students by ensuring a 40km/h speed limit in front of the main entrance to the school,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The new school zone signs are expected to be installed from Tuesday 4 June, weather permitting and the 40km/h speed limit will operate from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.

“In accordance with the School Zone Guidelines, 40km/h schools zones are provided on roads with an active direct access point from a school, and on roads where a RMS School Crossing Supervisor is employed.

“The NSW Government urges motorists to obey the 40km/h school zone speed limit to ensure the safety of all road users, particularly school students” Mr Ajaka said.
