School zones combined on Gloucester Street at Bonnyrigg Heights

Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads, John Ajaka MLC today announced the two school zones on Gloucester Street at Bonnyrigg Heights will be combined and one speed limit implemented to improve road safety for students John the Baptist Catholic Primary, Freeman Catholic College and Bonnyrigg Heights Public School.

“The NSW Government reviewed the school zone on Gloucester Street from Wilson Road to Cowpasture Road to assess the impacts of new pedestrian access points installed at John the Baptist Catholic Primary School and Freeman Catholic College.

“To maintain student safety and simplify conditions for motorists, the NSW Government has combined the school zones to now start at the western end of Gloucester Street running for 370 metres while reduced the zone at the eastern end of Gloucester Street by 540 metres. “With no direct access point to Bonnyrigg Heights Public School from Glouster Street, two separate zones are no longer needed.

“The NSW Government has installed the new speed limit signs and electronic message signs will remain in place in the week before and after installation to remind motorists of the change.” Mr Ajaka said.
