Plenty of options for customers during motor registry upgrade
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward today said customers wanting to use Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) motor registry at Kiama will have a number of options to choose from while the building is refitted.
"Kiama Motor Registry will be the first RMS site to become a Service NSW Centre. Major work will be carried out during the next month to update the office and prepare it for the new combined services to be provided at the state of the art facility," Mr Ward said.
"RMS has a number of service alternatives in place to ensure customers have the easiest possible access to services while the renovation is carried out.
"RMS will continue to offer driver testing services at Kiama Council Administration building, 11 Manning Street at Kiama.
"RMS and Service NSW staff will also offer support to customers using MyRTA online systems at Kiama Library, on weekdays from 10am to 2pm and extra staff will be available to help customers at Shellharbour Motor Registry.
"A shuttle bus and courier service between Kiama and Shellharbour Motor Registry will be available for RMS customers on Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
"Staff at the library can help customers with locating the shuttle bus, collecting transactions for courier delivery and helping customers with online services.
"The shuttle bus service will operate between Kiama Railway Station, about 100 metres from Kiama Library and Shellharbour Motor Registry, at hourly intervals.
"Temporary signs will provide clear direction to customers.
"Customers are also reminded they can carry out a number of transactions with RMS on line. These include registration renewals and transfers, booking a test, checking details and advising RMS of a vehicle disposal.
"When the office reopens in July it will be a Service NSW centre," Mr Ward concluded.
