New school zone to improve safety at Haberfield Public School

Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads, John Ajaka today announced a school zone will be installed outside Haberfield Public School on Chandos Street at Haberfield to increase student safety.

“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will install a 140 metre school zone to improve safety for students entering the school from Chandos Street,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The 40km/h school zone will operate from 8.00am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm on gazetted school days.

“The new school zone signs are expected to be installed from Friday 5 July, weather permitting, and the zone will operate from the start of Term 3.

“The NSW Government urges motorists to slow down to 40km/h during school hours to ensure the safety of all road users, particularly school students,” Mr Ajaka said.
