School zone extension on Kingsgrove Road

Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads, John Ajaka MLC today announced a school zone on Kingsgrove Road at Kingsgrove will be extended to increase safety for students at local schools.

“The NSW Government will extend the school zone on Kingsgrove Road by 80 metres to the north to improve safety of students heading to Kingsgrove Public School, Kingsgrove High School and Kingsgrove Infants School,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The NSW Government reviewed the school zone to assess how the northern gate of Kingsgrove Public School on Kingsgrove Road could be incorporated into the zone.

“The new school zone signs are expected to be installed from Friday 12 July, weather permitting. This school zone is expected to operate from the start of Term 3.

“The extended 40km/h school zone will continue to operate from 8.00am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4.00pm on gazetted school days.

“The NSW Government urges motorists to slow down to 40km/h during school hours to ensure the safety of all road users, particularly school students,” Mr Ajaka said.

Community members are invited to sign up at receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in the local area.
