New traffic lights for a safer crossing of Amy Street at Regents Park

Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads, John Ajaka MLC today announced that pedestrians will soon enjoy a safer crossing of Amy Street at Regents Park with a new set of traffic lights being installed at the intersection of Weeroona Road and Joseph Street.

“The NSW Government will carry out work to build the traffic lights with pedestrian facilities from Tuesday 23 July for three months, weather permitting,” Mr Ajaka said.

“The NSW Government has contributed $375,000 to the upgrade which includes new pedestrian markings and new pram ramps to improve pedestrian safety.

“Work will be carried out on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with some night shifts carried out between 8:00 PM and 5:00 AM, from Sunday to Thursday.

“Partial lane closures will be in place to create a safe work space.

“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has advised residents by letter about the start of work and every effort will be made to minimise noise and delays,” Mr Ajaka said.
