Katrina announces Olympic Highway Upgrade at Cootamundra nears completion
The Nationals Member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson announced today that motorists will soon enjoy smoother, faster travel on the Olympic Highway at Cootamundra with upgrade work on track for completion at the end of July.
Katrina said the NSW Government provided $800,000 to upgrade the highway between Temora and Sutton Streets to improve safety for all road users.
“Work started in March on the section of the highway known as the Cootamundra Bypass to remove old asphalt, resurface the road and replace line marking,” Katrina said.
“Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will complete fence installation, upgrade the road shoulder and relocate power in the final weeks of work.
“Motorists will also benefit from more parking spaces to be located on the western side of the highway as part of the work.
“This project is part of the NSW Government’s ongoing commitment to investing in vital infrastructure along this key regional route within South West NSW,” Katrina said. For more information on road projects visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects
