Henry Parkes Way near Meranburn to be upgraded

Work will start later this month to improve safety for motorists travelling on Henry Parkes Way near Meranburn.

Member for Orange Andrew Gee MP said the NSW Government has allocated $1 million for improvements including widening and resurfacing a three kilometre length of Henry Parkes Way, about five kilometres west of Manildra.

“The work aims to increase safety and provide motorists with a smoother road surface,” Mr Gee said.

“The work is good news for the local community as it will repair and restore the existing road on this important route between Manildra and Parkes.

“The improvements are an example of RMS’ commitment to improving roads in the Dubbo electorate,” Mr Gee said.

Roads and Maritime Services is advising motorists of alternating traffic conditions while the work is carried out from Monday 26 August until the end of October.

Cabonne Shire Council will carry out the work from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Wet weather may change work dates and times.

Every effort will be made to minimise any noise associated with this work.
Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place where needed to ensure the safety of workers, motorists and other road users.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
