Work starts on Trunkey Road at McGeorges Creek

Motorists will soon benefit from a safer and wider Trunkey Road at McGeorges Creek with work to upgrade the road starting this week.

“The NSW Government allocated $1.2 million to upgrade a five kilometre stretch of road about 25 kilometres south of Bathurst,” Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP said.

“Major work involves road widening and resurfacing and is planned to be completed by the end of the year. The project aims to improve safety, provide a smoother journey for motorists and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

“The work is part of Roads and Maritime Services commitment to improving regional roads in western NSW,” Mr Toole said.

Motorists are advised alternating traffic conditions will be in place with short delays while work is carried out from Monday 16 September on weekdays from 7am to 5pm and on Saturdays between 7am and 1pm.

Bathurst Regional Council will carry out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime. Wet weather may change work dates and times.

Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place during the work to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
