Safety work starts on Wyong Road at Tuggerah

Motorists will soon experience safer travel on Wyong Road at Tuggerah with work to reduce crash risk and improve motorist visibility starting on Sunday 22 September.

Member for Wyong Darren Webber said the Australian Government provided $445,000 for safety improvements on the road under the Black Spot program.

“Roads and Maritime Services will install a concrete median safety barrier on Wyong Road east of Bryant Drive at Tuggerah to reduce the risk of vehicles running off the road,” Mr Webber said.

“New signage will also be installed and line marking carried out.

“The project aims to reduce the risk and severity of crashes on this section of road, including head on and vehicle off road crashes.

“Work will be carried out from Sunday to Thursday from 7pm to 5am and is expected to be completed in October, weather permitting.

“Lanes nearest the median on both sides of the road will be closed during the work to provide a safe work space. “Traffic controllers will be in place to guide motorists safely around the work site,” Mr Webber concluded said.
