Improvement work to start on Trout Farm Road

Member for Albury, Greg Aplin is pleased to announce safety along the Riverina Highway will soon be improved with work starting later this month on Trout Farm Road, announced in the 2013/14 NSW Budget.

“Improvements will include shoulder widening and the removal of roadside hazards to address the crash history along the 300 metre length of road.

“In the seven years to December 2012 there were eight crashes involving cars leaving the road and crashing into a roadside object at this location which made it a priority for improvement.

“The $320,000 NSW Government funded work will be carried out by Roads and Maritime Services from 8 October. Work is expected to be completed by mid November,” said Mr Aplin.

Motorists can expect lane closures and minor delays while work is carried out on weekdays between 7am and 4pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Wet weather may change work dates and times.

Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
