Katrina announces start of road works to improve Burley Griffin Way near Harden

The Nationals Member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson, has announced that Roads and Maritime Services will start work to improve traffic flow and safety for motorists at the intersection of Burley Griffin Way and Nubba Road near Harden later this month.

“The NSW Government has provided $350,000 for the work which will make turning onto the 100km/h highway easier and safer for motorists,” Katrina said.

“The work will involve widening the road and building a 3.5 metre right turn lane from Nubba Road, installing drainage and upgrading directional and warning signs.

“The intersection is about 13 kilometres west of Harden and services light and heavy vehicles travelling through and around Harden.

“The work is an example of Roads and Maritime’s commitment to improving road safety in south western NSW.”

Katrina said motorists are advised that changed traffic conditions including lane closures will be in place while work is carried out on weekdays from 7am to 4pm from 15 October until mid-December.

Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their patience while the work is carried out. Wet weather may change work dates and times.
Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
