Intersection improvements starting on Kyalite Road

The Nationals Member for Murray-Darling, John Williams has advised today that safety improvement work at an important intersection on Kyalite Road will start later this month, 28 kilometres east of Kyalite.

A new and improved T intersection is being built at Balranald Road which will give priority to traffic travelling on Kyalite Road.

The new intersection will also provide wider sealed shoulders to improve safety for vehicles turning into Balranald Road.

Kyalite Road is the shortest route between Sydney and Adelaide and links local farming communities.

The NSW Government contributed $630,000 to the $830,000 upgrade with the Wakool Shire Council contributing the remainder and carrying out the work.

The work is expected to be completed by late November.

Motorists can expect lane closures and minor delays while work is carried out on weekdays from 28 October between 7am and 4pm and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Wet weather may change work dates and times.

Traffic control and reduced speed limits will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
