Castlereagh Highway improvement work completed near Wingadee
Motorists will now benefit from work to widen and strengthen the surface of the Castlereagh Highway near Wingadee which was completed this week according to Member for Barwon, Kevin Humphries.
“Roads and Maritime carried out improvement work to about 1.5 kilometres of the highway and installed drainage to improve safety during heavy rain,” Mr Humphries said.
“The work was the second stage of a $2 million NSW Government funded project which started last year to improve sections of the Castlereagh Highway near Wingadee.
“The recently completed second stage of work which started in May this year brings the total highway length improved by this funding to 3.2 kilometres.
“The highway shoulders were also widened to improve safety for motorists and resurfacing carried out to provide a safer road surface.
“The upgrade is part of an ongoing commitment to improve safety in the Wingadee area,” Mr Humphries said.
Roads and Maritime thanks motorists for their cooperation and patience while this important work was carried out.
