Have your say on right lane turn extension into Tower Road at Bankstown
Parliamentary Secretary for Transport & Roads Mr Stuart Ayres MP invites the community to have their say on a proposal to extend the northbound right turn lane from Henry Lawson Drive into Tower Road by 75 metres at Bankstown to improve traffic flow.
“This proposal is part of the NSW Government’s $246 million pinch point program which aims to reduce congestion and delays on key Sydney roads,” Mr Ayres said.
“While we get on with the job of delivering the infrastructure Western Sydney needs there are also short term solutions like our pinch point program which is targeting local bottlenecks”
“Community feedback is invited to the $650,000 proposal which aims to providing increased turning space from Henry Lawson Drive into Tower Road, reduce the risk of rear end crashes for vehicles in the through lane and reduce delays for northbound vehicles.
“Work to extend the southbound right turn lane would start late this year and take up to three weeks to complete, weather permitting. Work would be carried out at night to minimise disruptions and improve safety for workers and motorists.
“Roads and Maritime invites written feedback by Friday 15 November about the proposal to Roads and Maritime Project Manager Jayme Akstein at PO Box 973, Parramatta NSW 2124 or to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“All written comments received will be considered in the final assessment and development of the proposal.
