Have your say on plans for final stage of Schofields Road upgrade
The community is invited to comment on the concept design and review of environmental factors for stage three of the Schofields Road upgrade and extension between Veron Road at Schofields and Richmond Road at Marsden Park.
“Upgrading Schofields Road to a four lane transit boulevard will have great benefits for the community by providing a wider and safer road with pedestrian and cycle facilities separated from traffic,” Riverstone MP, Kevin Conolly said.
“The NSW Government provided $500,000 this financial year to continue planning stage three of the upgrade.
“The proposed upgrade will provide a major east-west link from Rouse Hill to Marsden Park for motorists travelling in North West Growth Centre. The proposed road will link to Stage 2 of the Schofields Road upgrade at Veron Road and joint with Richmond road at South Street.
“Two community information sessions will be held this month providing the community the opportunity to meet the project staff, ask questions and provide feedback to the proposal. “The sessions will be held at the Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre, Sam Lane Community Complex on Park Street at Riverstone on Thursday 14 November from 3pm to 8pm and Saturday 16 November from 10am to 2pm.
“The REF will be available to download from www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects and CD copies can be requested from Roads and Maritime Project Development Manager Devika Sitinamaluwe on 8849 2782 or email to Schofields_Road_upgrade@rms.nsw.gov.au.
The concept design and REF can be viewed in hard copy from Monday 4 to Friday 29 November at Blacktown City Council office and Riverstone Library.
“Written comments are invited by Friday 29 November to Devika Sitinamaluwe, Project Development Manager, Development Sydney Section, Roads and Maritime Services, PO Box 973 Parramatta CBD NSW 2124 or by email to Schofields_Road_Upgrade@rms.nsw.gov.au.
“Roads and Maritime will consider all comments when finalising the project design and will keep the community informed as the project progresses,” Mr Conolly said. For more information visit www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects
