Speed limit change on Forest Reefs Road at Millthorpe and Forest Reefs
Motorists are encouraged to slow down on Forest Reefs Road at Millthorpe and Forest Reefs with speed limit changes due to be implemented on 31 January, weather permitting.
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole MP said Roads and Maritime Services has carried out a review of the road at the request of Blayney Shire Council in response to concerns raised by the community.
“The review assessed a number of factors along the road including pedestrian activity, road environment, traffic characteristics and crash data,” Mr Toole said.
The existing speed limit will be reduced to 80 km/h on Forest Reefs Road from west of Millthorpe to Forest Reefs and north from Forest Reefs to Orchard Road.
Warning signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changes and will remain for at least a week after the new speed limit signs have been installed.
Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and have their say on speed limits.
