Work starts on the Golden Highway at Cassilis

George Souris MP, Member for Upper Hunter, is pleased to announce work has started to improve the road surface of the Golden Highway at Cassilis.

Mr Souris said the NSW Government has provided almost $550,000 for the project which will improve road conditions and safety for motorists in the Upper Hunter.

“The work involves rebuilding about 1.2 kilometres of the highway at the Cassilis intersection and is expected to take five weeks to complete, weather permitting,” Mr Souris said.

“Work will be carried out from Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm and traffic control will be in place to safely guide motorists.

“One lane will be closed while the work is carried out and the road surface may be unsealed at times.

“Reduced speed limits will also be in place during work hours and motorists may experience minor delays.

“Roads and Maritime Services thanks motorists for their patience while this work is carried out,” Mr Souris said.
