Investigations for Hartley Valley safety work next week
Member for Bathurst Paul Toole has received notification from Roads and Maritime Services who are advising motorists of changed traffic conditions from next week on the Great Western Highway between Carroll Drive at Hartley and Jenolan Caves Road for geotechnical investigations.
Mr Toole said, “The work will involve drilling four boreholes and digging 13 test pits. The information gathered will be used for the Hartley Valley safety work which is part of the Great Western Highway upgrade.”
“Work will be carried out from 8am to 4pm on weekdays, starting Monday 10 February.
The eastbound slow lane and shoulder on this section of the highway will be closed while work is carried out. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 km/h through the worksite.”
Work is expected to be completed on Friday 14 February, weather permitting.
Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work.
Roads and Maritime appreciates motorists’ and residents patience while this important work is carried out.
