Work starts to ease congestion on Young Street at Albury
Member for Albury, Greg Aplin is pleased to advise that work to improve traffic flow through the intersection of Young Street and Borella Road in Albury will start next week.
“The NSW Government has committed $50,000 to build an additional right turn lane on Young Street to improve travel times and safety for Albury road users,” Mr Aplin said.
“Work will also be carried out to improve the coordination of traffic lights with nearby
“During peak time, vehicles waiting to turn right into Borella Road (Riverina Highway) must queue out of the dedicated turning lane, delaying through traffic on Young Street,” Mr Aplin said.
“Once work is completed, this issue will be resolved and motorists will benefit from improved safety and more reliable travel times, particularly during weekday peak periods.
“Roads and Maritime Services and Albury City Council will carry out work between Monday 10 and Friday 21 March from 8pm to 5am, weather permitting.”
Partial lane closures will be in place during work. Motorists should plan their journey, allow extra travel time, follow all signs and the direction of traffic controllers.
Every effort will be made to reduce noise associated with the work.
