Speed limit changes to improve safety at Sanctuary Point
Motorists are encouraged to slow down on several roads at Sanctuary Point with speed zone changes to be introduced within the next two weeks.
Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock said Roads and Maritime Services reviewed the 50km/h speed limit on Vost Drive, Yallara and Maxwell crescents and Capeland Avenue, in accordance with NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines and in consultation with Shoalhaven City Council.
“Within the next fortnight the speed limit will be changed to 40km/h as the result of a review which assessed a number of factors including developments in the area, traffic volumes and the road environment," Mrs Hancock said.
“The speed limit reductions aim to improve safety for all road users, in line with traffic calming work previously carried out by council.
“Signs will be in place to warn motorists of the speed limit changes and remain in place for two weeks after the new speed limit signs have been installed,” she said.
