Work completed early on Dalgety Bridge

There’s good news for motorists who use Dalgety Bridge with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) finishing essential maintenance work ahead of schedule, the Member for Monaro John Barilaro said.

The bridge work is part of the NSW Government's $4.5 million commitment to restoring this important structure to ensure it serves the community well into the future.

"The bridge was expected to be closed again next Tuesday and Wednesday to allow work to continue but that is no longer necessary," Mr Barilaro said.

"It’s very welcome news and means the detour which took about an hour is no longer needed, saving time and fuel.

"The work which involved building new timber approach spans on the bridge was expected to require eight full days of closures but instead it had been completed in six.”

Electronic message signs will be in place to advise motorists the bridge will now be open on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The RMS thanks motorists for their patience while this important work was carried out.
