Changed traffic conditions on the Hume Highway at Ashfield
8 May 2014
Member for Strathfield Charles Casuscelli advises that motorists can expect changed traffic conditions on the Hume Highway between Ashfield and Enfield from next week for essential maintenance work carried out by Roads and Maritime Services.
Mr Casuscelli said that the NSW Government has provided $1.6million to replace the road surface between Thomas Street at Ashfield and The Boulevarde at Enfield to improve safety for all road users and reduce future maintenance costs.
“I am advised that work that was planned to start on Monday 4 May will now be carried out between Sunday 12 May and Monday 21 July from 8pm to 5am, except Saturday, weather permitting,” said Mr Casuscelli.
Roads and Maritime Services advise that partial lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place during work.
“Motorists should plan their journey, allow extra travel time, follow all signs and the direction of traffic controllers,” said Mr Casuscelli.
Roads and Maritime assures residents that every effort will be made to minimise the noise associated with this work and thanks motorists and residents for their patience while the work is carried out.
