Changed traffic conditions on Illawarra Highway at Albion Park
13 May 2014
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward today announced essential road maintenance will be carried out from next week on the Illawarra Highway at Taylor Road and at Frazers Creek, 1.6 kilometres north of Taylor Road at Albion Park.
Mr Ward said that the work involves repairing drains to provide a safer road surface and replacing the existing guardrail to improve road safety at Frazers Creek.
“Work will be carried out from Monday 19th May to Saturday 28th June between 9am and 3pm, weather permitting,” he said.
“During work, one lane will be open to traffic and a reduced roadwork speed limit will be in place. All lanes will reopen to traffic outside work hours.
“Motorists are asked to use caution when travelling through the work site and to comply with all signs, speed limits and traffic control measures.
“I am advised that every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with this work.
“I thank local motorists for their patience while this essential work is being carried out,” Mr Ward said.
