Speed limit change on Camden Road at Douglas Park

Speed limit change on Camden Road at Douglas Park

26 May 2014

The Hon. Jai Rowell MP, Member for Wollondilly, is advising motorists to slow down on Camden Road at Douglas Park after a review of the existing 60km/h speed limit.

“The review was carried out in accordance with the NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines and in consultation with local council in response to community concerns,” Mr Rowell said.

“The review assessed a number of factors including roadside development, traffic characteristics and crash profiles.

"The speed limit will be reduced from 60km/h to 50km/h for 1.1 kilometres on Camden Road from 400 metres north of McWilliam Drive to Douglas Park Drive from 10 June.

"The existing 60km/h speed limit will remain along a 400 metres stretch of road between Douglas Park Drive and Nepean Street.

"The changed speed limit will be more consistent with the surrounding road environment and aims to improve safety for all road users.

“Warning signs will be in place for at least two weeks to advise motorists of the new speed limit,” said Mr Rowell.
