Have your say on changes to Bungarribee Road at Blacktown
5 June 2014
Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads Ray Williams MP today invited community feedback on a proposal to introduce morning and afternoon No Stopping Zones on Bungarribee Road in Blacktown.
In response to community concerns, Roads and Maritime Services proposes to install No Stopping Zones on both sides of the road between Flushcombe Road and Reservoir Road/ Balmoral Street to improve safety and traffic flow.
"The change would stop vehicles parking in the kerbside lane during the morning and afternoon peak hours except in a medical or other emergency," Mr Williams said.
"It would ensure the lane is free for through traffic, reducing congestion and improving travel times.
"The No Stopping Zones would be in force from 6am to 10am and from 3pm to 7pm on weekdays."
Roads and Maritime is also proposing to install a full time No Stopping Zone along a 10 metre section of Bungarribee Road, on the eastern side of Patrick Street, and replace the two bus stops with full time bus zones.
Mr Williams said road users can find alternative off street parking or in adjoining side streets.
Written feedback can be provided by Friday 27 June to Richard McHenery, Network and Safety Officer,
Roads and Maritime Services, PO Box 973 Parramatta NSW 2124 or email Richard.McHenery@rms.nsw.gov.au
