Wauchope roads get $1.4 million safety upgrade
Deputy Premier and Member for Oxley, Andrew Stoner MP today announced $1.4 million will be invested in maintenance work on the Oxley Highway at Sarahs Creek Road, near Wauchope.
“Resurfacing work to the east of Sarahs Creek Bridge will provide a stronger, safer and more durable road surface,” Andrew Stoner said.
“The project will also improve and repair drainage and upgrade line marking to provide a safer journey and reduce future maintenance costs.”
Night work will take place from Sunday 22 June to Thursday 3 July, except Saturday, weather permitting.
Work will be carried out from 6pm to 6am to minimise the impact on motorists.
Roads and Maritime Services has contacted residents to advise them of the work and the timeframe.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane and reduced speed limits will be in place where needed to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
Electronic message signs will be in place to advise motorists of changed traffic conditions.
Motorists should plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs.
