New speed limit to improve safety on Cobb Highway at Moama
Motorists are advised a new 80km/h speed zone will be installed this week immediately south of the Moama Industrial Estate to improve safety in the area, John Williams The Nationals Member for Murray-Darling said.
“Roads and Maritime Services reviewed the speed limit on the Cobb Highway south of the Moama Industrial Estate in response to a request from Murray Shire Council,” Mr Williams said.
“The review found a speed limit reduction would improve safety for vehicles entering and exiting the industrial and residential estates from the Cobb Highway.
The current 100km/h speed limit between Kiely Road and 310 metres north of McCulloch Drive will be changed to 80km/h with new speed zone signs expected to be installed by Wednesday 16 July.
“Signs will be in place for two weeks before installation to ensure motorists are aware of the change,” Mr Williams said.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and observe the new speed limit.
