Tenders invited to paint historic Gostwyck Bridge

7 October 2014

George Souris, MP, Member for Upper Hunter announced the Roads and Maritime Services has invited tenders to paint historic Gostwyck Bridge across the Paterson River at Gostwyck.

Mr. Souris said the NSW Government has funded the project to paint the steel truss bridge as part of a broader upgrade to improve the structure.

“The upgrade of Gostwyck Bridge aims to preserve the life of the structure and ensure the bridge continues to serve the community well into the future,” Mr. Souris said.

“We thank the community for their patience earlier this year during closures for major maintenance with the structure now ready to be repainted.

“Tenders are now being invited to remove and repaint the steel truss of Gostwyck Bridge by 2.30pm on Thursday 30 October.

“This work also aims to help reduce future maintenance activities and bridge closures. Painting is expected to start early next year.
