Second stage of night work on Martin Bridge at Taree
10 October 2014
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead has advised motorists of changed traffic conditions next week for the second stage of night work on Martin Bridge at Taree.
Mr Bromhead said Roads and Maritime Services is installing a new barrier on Martin Bridge to improve safety for motorists.
“Work will be carried out at night from Monday 13 October between 7pm and 4am and is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting,” Mr Bromhead said.
“The bridge will remain open during work with changed traffic conditions including single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h.
“Traffic control will be in place to ensure the safety of workers, motorists and other road users.”
Mr Bromhead said there will be no impact to road users during this work.
“The required work will use a barge under the bridge between 7am and 5pm on weekdays. An exclusion zone will be established around the barge for marine vessels.
“The final block of night work is scheduled to start in early 2015, with the community informed once dates are determined.
“I thank the community for their patience during this essential work and I can assure motorists that every effort will be made to minimise impacts,” Mr Bromhead said.
