Business impact surveys for Albion Park Rail bypass project

3 December 2014

Member for Kiama Gareth Ward today announced that business impact surveys are being carried out until the end of the week to inform part of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Albion Park Rail bypass project.

Mr Ward said that the work involves a community shopper, business and car park surveys to understand shopping centre usage in Albion Park Rail.

“The surveys start today and will be carried out until Friday 5th December,” he said.

“The project team will carry out surveys with members of the public and business owners to find out which suburb people are visiting from and how long they are staying.

“The EIS will contain more detailed information about the design features of the bypass.

“It is expected to be on exhibition in late 2015 when further community feedback will be sought, with planning approval targeted for 2016.

“A report on community feedback to the preferred option for the bypass will be published early next year,” Mr Ward said.
