Traffic changes near Gerringong as work resumes
31 December 2014
Member for Kiama Gareth Ward advises motorists that work on the Princes Highway will resume next week after the Christmas holiday shut down.
From Monday 5 January, the speed limit at Gerringong work zones will return to 60km/h as work resumes on the $329 million Princes Highway upgrade.
The speed limit was raised to 80 km/h during the Christmas break to improve traffic flow.
This change, combined with the opening of new southbound lanes between the Kiama Bends and Fern Street, helped to reduce congestion.
Four lanes from Fern Street to Kiama Bends will remain.
