Katrina says work to start on $2.5 million rebuild of Kendal Street, Cowra

14 January 2015

Nationals Member for Burrinjuck, Katrina Hodgkinson says that road users are soon to benefit from a $2.5 million NSW Government funded project to rebuild an 800 metre section of the Mid Western Highway of Kendal Street at Cowra.

Katrina said the essential improvement work to be carried out between Lachlan and Darling Streets will involve removing and replacing sections of the road surface to improve safety.

“Cowra Shire Council will carry out the work in sections to reduce the impact on the Cowra central business district and ensure the safety of road users and workers,” Katrina said.

“A detour will be in place during this period to divert through traffic and heavy vehicles onto Fitzroy, Vaux and Lachlan streets which is expected to result in short delays,” Katrina said.

Work will be carried out from 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm Sunday. Work will commence on Monday, 19 January 2015 and continue until May 2015, weather permitting.

Katrina thanks motorists and the community for their patience during this essential work.
