New school zone on Victoria Avenue at Concord West

19 January 2015

Member for Strathfield Charles Casuscelli said a new school zone will be installed later this week along Victoria Avenue at Concord West for students accessing the new Victoria Avenue Public School.

“The NSW Government will install a 115 metre long school zone between 10 metres west of George Street and 125 metres west of George Street to cover the school access point on Victoria Avenue,” Mr Casuscelli said.

“The 40km/h speed limit will operate from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.

“The new school zone signs are expected to be installed from Thursday 22 January, weather permitting and will be operational from the start of term one.

“Motorists are reminded to slow down, obey the 40km/h school zone speed limit and be aware of pedestrians near the school.”

Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website www.saferroadsnsw.com.au to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area.
