New school zone for Kingdom Culture Christian School
19 January 2015
Member for Rockdale, Mr John Flowers, today announced a new school zone will be installed this month along Kembla, Dowling and Hirst Streets at Arncliffe to improve safety for students accessing Kingdom Culture Christian School.
“Roads and Maritime Services will install a new school zone on Kembla Street between Hirst Street to 115 metres south of Hirst Street and on Hirst Street for 130 metres between 15 metres west of Dowling Street and 20 metres east of Kembla Street,” Mr Flowers said.
“Roads and Maritime will also extend the existing school zone on Dowling Street by 50 metres north to improve safety for students using the new school access point on Dowling Street,” Mr Flowers said.
“The 40km/h speed limit will operate from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
“The new school zone signs are expected to be installed from Thursday 22 January, weather permitting and will be operational from the start of term one.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, obey the 40km/h school zone speed limit and be aware of pedestrians near the school.”
