Sparks Road and Warnervale Town Centre intersection upgrades complete
24 February 2015
Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Roads and Liberal candidate for Wyong Sandra Kerr today opened the $23 million Sparks Road and new intersection at Woongarrah.
“The upgrade has provided two lanes in each direction on Sparks Road between Virginia and Hiawatha Roads and includes two right turn lanes into Mary MacKillop Drive at the Minnesota Road intersection which will help ease congestion during the peak,” Mr Williams said.
“The NSW Government funded the $23 million upgrade which came in $1 million under budget and ahead of schedule.”
“All traffic lanes will be opened today with speed limits restored to 80km/h on Sparks Road west of Hiawatha Road.
“This means the NSW Government will reinvest funding into future upgrades in the region on a priority basis.
“This project is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to improve road safety and travel times for motorists and deliver high quality infrastructure to the community and businesses on the Central Coast,” Mr Williams said.
Ms Kerr said this was great news for the community.
“To see this project complete is wonderful for the people and businesses that use this road every day,” Ms Kerr said.
“But even better to hear it under budget and ahead of schedule is a reminder the Liberals and Nationals are delivering for the Central Coast.
“For too long Wyong was neglected by Labor governments – this is yet another reminder it has taken the Liberals and Nationals to deliver for the people of Wyong.”
