Friday, 12 June 2015
Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier for the Illawarra and South Coast, Gareth Ward advises motorists traffic conditions will change on Kangaroo Valley Road at Berry this afternoon as work progresses on the $580 million Foxground and Berry bypass project.
Mr Ward said a temporary road has been built next to Kangaroo Valley Road to allow work to start on the new Kangaroo Valley Road over bridge.
“This will allow work on the bypass to take another step forward with building of the southern interchange at Berry now able to start,” Mr Ward said.
“Work on the upgrade is progressing well - there are 24 girders delivered to site with another 39 expected by the end of the month re expected to be delivered before the end of the month. Bridge piling work is also in full swing.
Mr Ward said the traffic changes will be carried out with minimal disruption to motorists on the Princes Highway at the Kangaroo Valley Road intersection.
“Signs will be in place to help direct motorists, with traffic scheduled to be diverted this afternoon.
“The Foxground and Berry bypass project team will continue to monitor traffic conditions in and around Berry to ensure smooth traffic flow.”
Roads and Maritime thank motorists for their patience while work is carried out.
