Safety improvements completed on The Golden Highway near Denman
30 June 2015
Michael Johnsen MP, Member for Upper Hunter advises road users they can now benefit from restoration and safety improvement work completed on the Golden Highway west of Edderton Road near Denman.
Mr. Johnsen said the NSW Government provided $1.2 million to widen the road shoulders and install new safety barriers on the highway to improve safety.
“Work also included road repairs and improvements to drainage and property access to reduce ongoing maintenance costs,” Mr. Johnsen said.
“This vital project under way since February was delayed due to the severe wet weather storms in the Hunter Region in April.
“Roads and Maritime Services crews worked as quickly as possible to complete the upgrade to minimise the impact to motorists on this major route from inland New South Wales to the New England Highway near Singleton,” Mr. Johnsen said.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for their patience while this essential maintenance work was carried out.
