Safety improvement work progresses on Batlow Road at Homebush Park
7 July 2015
Work is progressing on a $2.8 million NSW Government funded project to improve safety for motorists by repairing the road surface on Batlow Road at Homebush Park north of Tumbarumba.
Member for Albury, Greg Aplin said significant work is under way to improve a 1.86 kilometre stretch of road to reduce ongoing maintenance costs and provide a safer road surface for motorists.
“With drainage upgrade work at the site now complete, work is under way to rebuild and resurface this section of Batlow Road,” Mr Aplin said.
“Motorists are advised traffic controllers and mobile traffic lights will remain in place to guide traffic through the site while this important work is under way on weekdays from 7am to 6pm and on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm, weather permitting.
“Motorists should plan their trip, allow extra travel time and follow all signs, including reduced speed limits,” Mr Aplin said.
Tumbarumba Shire Council is carrying out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services with the project expected to be completed in December, weather permitting.
The community is thanked for their patience while this important resurfacing work is carried out.
