Princes motorway to close between Waterfall and Bulli Tops for night work
5 August 2015
Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier for the Illawarra and South Coast Gareth Ward has today reminded local motorists across the region that the M1 Princes Motorway will be closed for five nights from this Sunday between Waterfall and Bulli Tops for maintenance to improve road user safety.
Mr Ward said that the New South Wales Government allocated $250,000 for work to be carried out in both directions between the Princes Highway interchange at Waterfall and Bulli Tops.
“Work will include repairing the road surface, replacing guardrails and signs, trimming trees and removing weeds, clearing drains, line marking and litter collection,” he said.
“The motorway will be closed between 8pm and 4am each night from Sunday 9th and Thursday 13th August for work to be carried out safely.
“Motorists will be diverted onto the Princes Highway and should allow an extra 10 minutes travel time.
“Electronic message signs along the road will display any changes to work times and dates along with detours.
“I certainly thank local motorists for their patience and understanding whilst this work is being carried out,” Mr Ward said.
